Traveling with young children doesn’t have to be hard, but keeping their attention for longer than an hour is a hefty task. We recommend getting the whole family together for a day in Madrid’s forest bordering the city center. Casa de Campo is the preferred spot for many Madrileño families for its variety of entertainment options.

Parque de Atracciones (Theme Park)
There is a theme park in Casa de Campo that has an affordable entrance fee and an array of thrill rides for all ages. Pack a picnic or plan to eat at the restaurants to spend the whole day there. During the warmer months is the best time to go, starting as early as March.

Madrid Teleférico (Cable Car)
Madrid has its own cable car that will take you over the park to enjoy its lusciously green views. The ride starts from the Parque del Oeste, near the Temple of Debod, and ends in the center of Casa de Campo. Adult tickets start as low as €4.50 and for children €4.

Zoo Aquarium
You can also find the Zoo Aquarium in Casa de Campo. You can spend the whole day seeing animals and marine life from all over the word, along with dolphins, sea lions and exotic bird exhibits. There are even restaurants that will suit the whole family. We recommend buying the tickets online before heading over because it’s cheaper than at the ticket office.
General admission for adults is €24, children (3-7 y/o) and seniors (65+ y/o) is €19.50, and children under 3 years old are free.

Bike Riding
Madrid’s user-friendly and popular bike share program makes it possible for locals and visitors to rent motorized bicycles (electric) from kiosks around the city. We recommend renting a bike from BiciMAD and riding through the park with your family. You’ll love weaving in and out of the trees or cruising along the paths. Of course, BiciMAD isn’t the only option for bike rentals. There are plenty of companies that will rent bikes out for a few hours to a whole day.
