Museums Aren’t the Only Way To Enjoy Contemporary Art in Madrid

Besides the larger, better-known museums that everybody should visit, Madrid is also the capital of Contemporary art for many other reasons. Discover these unique spaces that are too often forgotten.

Matadero Madrid

Integrated in Madrid Río, it opened in 2006 after having been the Municipal Slaughter house and Market of cattle. Its activities are visual arts, theatre, literature and reading, music and musical art, cinema, design, fashion, and architecture. The place itself is a surprising walk of modernist art.
