Integrated in Madrid Río, it opened in 2006 after having been the Municipal Slaughter house and Market of cattle. Its activities are visual arts, theatre, literature and reading, music and musical art, cinema, design, fashion, and architecture. The place itself is a surprising walk of modernist art.
La Tabacalera de Lavapiés
This building was the old Tobacco Factory of Madrid, also a historic patrimony. Since 2007 it has been a cultural space holding temporary exhibitions and activities around photography, visual and contemporary art. Keeping the old taste of the tobacco factory, its different shows are specially integrated at this amazing place.
La Casa Encendida
This neomudéjar building is a sacred national and international reference point where some of the most avant-garde artistic experiences take place. There are often educational activities, debates, and various events having to do with modern creation
